Berti Hut -1950 m

"Breathe, you have arrived in paradise"

Opening 2024
from 15th June
to 29th September

Your foothold in the Popera Dolomites

Walk to us, it's nice!

Our hut, on the edge of Vallon Popera, can only be reached by foot in 1 hour of walking in total immersion in the sounds and colors of the UNESCO Dolomites. Find out where to leave your car, shuttle services and highway and rail links .

Choose your room with a view

We lovingly guard 38 beds to wake up embraced by the majestic peaks of the Dolomites. You can easily choose whether you prefer to sleep in private rooms with 2 or 4 beds or in social dormitories. Reservations are very welcome.

Try our family recipes

For generations we have handed down the culinary knowledge of our ancestors from Comelico from parents to children. Our famous apple fritters and traditional poached polenta are among our bestsellers! Together, many mountain dishes for young and old.

Plan your next day

The hut is located in a strategic position to reach the most beautiful equipped trails of the whole Comelico, as well as historic aided paths and famous High Routes. The Popera Dolomites also have numerous thematic hikes in store for you with different levels of difficulty.

NEW MANAGEMENT 2024

The Dolomites tell history

Twentieth century themed hikes

Vallon Popera, where the hut is located, is the ideal place for history lovers. There are many remains and sad memories of the First World War, but also the traces of the Second World War and the foundation of the hut.

Love the mountains with us!

The sweet balance of nature

Near the hut you can reach the small and fascinating Popera lake, the waterfalls of the Risena stream, admired by Pope John Paul II during his hike to the hut on 10 July 1987, and the "Belvedere", a panoramic point of observation of the peaks of the group Popera, majestic and imposing Dolomite crags whose breathtaking view remains in the heart. These, and many other natural features, characterize the delicate ecosystem of the mountains that host us and that we strive to preserve every day. We use renewable hydroelectric energy, we recycle, we prefer water and soft drinks on tap over plastic packaging and we look for ever better ways to be environmentally friendly. We know that we have been given a paradise; thanks also to your help we want to give it to today's and future's generations.
